Rodrigo Machado kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. With a little luck, SC Goais's Eusébio Guerreiro got control of the ball when Alípio Estrada tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 13th match minute, SC Goais was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Mendes to maneuver through the defense. Ivan Sobral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inácio Baptista in the 16th minute of the match. Eusébio Guerreiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alípio Estrada in the 19th minute. If Inácio Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. SC Goais's supporters rose to their feet, but Inácio Baptista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivan Sobral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 30thth minute of the game Pedro Campos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SF Campus's Ivan Sobral was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the SC Goais defense, Alípio Estrada kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eusébio Guerreiro. The SC Goais fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eusébio Guerreiro should have stopped the shot. Alípio Estrada could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Eusébio Guerreiro made a huge save. 42 minutes into the game, SF Campus's Alípio Estrada nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eusébio Guerreiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. If Inácio Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

During the 53rd minute of the match Rodolfo Resende completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Rodolfo Resende a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. If Inácio Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pedro Campos in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ivan Sobral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. SC Goais's Pedro Campos got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Inácio Baptista could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Ivan Sobral made a huge save. In the 72nd minute, Severiano Porto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sebastião Domingues during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 77th match minute, SC Goais was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastião Domingues to maneuver through the defense. In the 79th minute, Severiano Porto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
