Cristiano Sales's late challenge caught a RIO DE ONOR's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristiano Sales helped the player get up and apologised. In the 13th match minute, Cantarola FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristiano Sales to maneuver through the defense. In the 15th minute, Noel Branco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 20 minutes into the match, RIO DE ONOR's goal looked a bit too open when Xavier Rebocho came free, but Ricardo Tomé reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Cantarola FC booed when RIO DE ONOR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabiano Franco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cláudio Lopes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reginaldo Caetano having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Xavier Rebocho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 44th minute, Pedro Menezes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Xavier Rebocho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cantarola FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Xavier Rebocho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Tomé breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Xavier Rebocho made a kick off. Ricardo Tomé made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xavier Rebocho in the 52nd minute of play. Domingos Aleixo kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Cesário Bezerra managed to get in a good position for a shot. RIO DE ONOR's supporters rose to their feet, but Cesário Bezerra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xavier Rebocho in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricardo Tomé saved RIO DE ONOR from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Xavier Rebocho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ricardo Tomé was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. If Noel Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Noel Branco came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Cantarola FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Noel Branco couldn't finish the play. Ricardo Tomé took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xavier Rebocho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Cantarola FC fully deserved thier win.
