An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Maia in the 6th minute of play forced S.C. Salgueiros's goalkeeper Eurico Lameirinhas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Rui Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of SC CCK booed when S.C. Salgueiros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélder Frois didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eurico Lameirinhas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Leiria in the 13th minute of the match. Rui Maia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Salgueiros's Eurico Lameirinhas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Leiria in the 32nd minute of play. After 32 minutes of play, SC CCK's Carlos Leiria made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eurico Lameirinhas was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of S.C. Salgueiros booed when SC CCK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rui Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alexandrino Anjos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Abel Vaz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luís Sá to make the kick off. After 63 played minutes S.C. Salgueiros got a freekick which was hit by Hélder Frois. Rui Maia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Leiria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eurico Lameirinhas having to interfere. In the 67th minute, Igor Rebocho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 71st minute Cláudio Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Vaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. S.C. Salgueiros's Eurico Lameirinhas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui Maia in the 74th minute of play. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind S.C. Salgueiros's goalkeeper Eurico Lameirinhas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rui Maia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eurico Lameirinhas having to interfere. SC CCK's Joaquim Lisboa was substituted for Cristiano Campos. Eurico Lameirinhas made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Carlos Leiria sent off a good shot on target. A nice corner shot did that Adriano Horta got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Abel Vaz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.
