Vítor Trigueiro helped the player get up and apologised. Vítor Trigueiro kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. If Joel Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lúcio Lencastre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Canada's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Veiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joel Leão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Veiga in the 45th minute of play forced thunder nation's goalkeeper Valério Laureano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th minute Alexandre Veiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valério Laureano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lúcio Lencastre made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Inácio Correia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Canada's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave thunder nation the free kick. In the 51st minute, Inácio Correia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Lúcio Lencastre's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Daniel Amaral was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. José Luz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alexandre Veiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. José Luz struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Valério Laureano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Canada. After a defensive mix-up in SC Canada's zone, Joel Leão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniel Amaral came out of the goal and Joel Leão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Amaral was a little too slow when Lúcio Lencastre got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 74th minute. The score was now 1-1. 78 minutes into the match, thunder nation's Lúcio Lencastre sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Daniel Amaral narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Adolfo Morais was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 83 minutes had been played. In the 84th minute, Adolfo Morais hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fernando Brás took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 88th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Daniel Amaral. SC Canada's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. SC Canada were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
