Abílio Alves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adélio Arruda in the 7th minute of play. 9 minutes into the game, Alcangosta's Manuel Calado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Abílio Alves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Tanganheira FC's zone, Joaquim Arruda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abílio Alves came out of the goal and Joaquim Arruda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edgar Sesimbra made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pedro Matias in the 19th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elias Carneiro during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 20th minute, Elias Carneiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 21 minutes into the match, Alcangosta's goal looked a bit too open when Danilo Tavares came free, but Edgar Sesimbra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abílio Alves came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Alcangosta's Joaquim Arruda. But to his dismay, Joaquim Arruda quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Adélio Arruda managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alcangosta's supporters rose to their feet, but Adélio Arruda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abílio Alves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Adélio Arruda's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Abílio Alves was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Arruda in the 31st minute of play forced Tanganheira FC's goalkeeper Abílio Alves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Danilo Tavares to make the kick off. Manuel Calados short, quick shot in the 53rdth minute got Abílio Alves to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Alcangosta's Edgar Sesimbra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Matias in the 54th minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, Alcangosta's goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldo Sequeira came free, but Edgar Sesimbra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 57 played minutes Tanganheira FC got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Matias. Manuel Calado's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Abílio Alves firmly grabbed it by the left post. After some careless play in the Tanganheira FC defense, Adélio Arruda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Abílio Alves. The Tanganheira FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Abílio Alves should have stopped the shot. Adélio Arruda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Abílio Alves made a huge save. Osvaldo Sequeira charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Osvaldo Sequeira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Alcangosta's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-5. In the 92nd minute Adélio Arruda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abílio Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Manuel Calado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alcangosta played a much better game than Tanganheira FC and deserved their victory. The Tanganheira FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
