Spectators: 6641 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1641, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Jaime Sarmento got the match started through his kick off. Jaime Sarmento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 10 minutes, Inácio Jesus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lombo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Inácio Jesus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gil Moniz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Sarmento, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 15th minute, Lombo FC's Sandro Brito ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Amado Onofre. Amado Onofre yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. 21 minutes into the match, Vasco da Gama's goal looked a bit too open when Sandro Brito came free, but Amado Onofre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vasco da Gama's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Sandro Brito 25 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. Jaime Sarmento's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gil Moniz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. Jaime Sarmento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Gil Moniz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sandro Brito made a kick off. Vasco da Gama's Jaime Severiano got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Caetano Paião's late challenge caught a Lombo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Caetano Paião helped the player get up and apologised. Caetano Paião kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Amado Onofre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandro Brito in the 58th minute of the match. Gil Moniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Sarmento in the 62nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jaime Severiano got free with Gil Moniz in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Jaime Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jaime Severiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Lombo FC's zone, Jaime Sarmento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gil Moniz came out of the goal and Jaime Sarmento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Lombo FC's David Moura got a free kick in the 85th minute. In the 93rd minute Sandro Brito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amado Onofre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
