The supporters of Grupo Desportivo Portel booed when Cavaleiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristiano Campos didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hugo Silva made a kick off. If André Leiria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. José Oliveira hit a great ball. Grupo Desportivo Portel's Joaquim Figueiras couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 66th minute. Hugo Silva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquim Sampaio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Ribeiro in the 71st minute of play forced Cavaleiro's goalkeeper Abel Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hugo Silva struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Joaquim Sampaio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cavaleiro. After 80 played minutes Grupo Desportivo Portel got a freekick which was hit by Lourenço Quintanilha. If Jorge Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute.
