The supporters of Reborido booed when S-MAX was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abílio Pacheco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute, Máximo Rebelo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute, Isidro Pereira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Reborido fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. With an all-out effort, S-MAX's Hermes Rebelo threw himself towards the right post 44 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Máximo Moura, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. S-MAX's Humberto Dantas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save S-MAX from getting a goal against them. Máximo Moura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Hermes Rebelo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hermes Rebelo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Máximo Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manuel Cruz struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Hermes Rebelo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for S-MAX. In the 94th minute Máximo Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hermes Rebelo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Reborido supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Reborido would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
