Martinho Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Martinho Pires to make the kick off. With his leg Isidoro Campos managed to avoid a goal in the 53rdth minute, when red devils's Jorge Leiria fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 54th minute Jaime Teixeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidoro Campos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 54 played minutes Vasco United FC got a freekick which was hit by Januário Moutinho. In the 56th minute, Martinho Pires hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 60th minute Cássio Soveral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xavier Guerreiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isidoro Campos stood somewhat misplaced when Jorge Leiria came free in front of goal and shot 0-1 to the left of him in the 65 minute. 69 minutes into the match, red devils's goal looked a bit too open when Martinho Pires came free, but Xavier Guerreiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vasco United FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Domingos Alcântara in the 71st minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of red devils's goalie and right to Nuno Caiado. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. red devils's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Norberto Rebocho took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Xavier Guerreiro. Jorge Leiria's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Isidoro Campos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. If Jorge Leiria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rui Ponte thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Isidoro Campos, a very annoying self made goal in the 82nd minute which led to 1-2. When Jorge Leiria came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the red devils fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Leiria couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Vasco United FC's Nuno Caiado got a free kick in the 87th minute. Abel Araújo's late challenge caught a Vasco United FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abel Araújo helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to red devils getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Abel Araújo hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Leiria in the 93rd minute of play forced Vasco United FC's goalkeeper Isidoro Campos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Martinho Pires during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Martinho Pires kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. When the match was over red devils could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Vasco United FC throughout the match.
