Amado Guarda charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amado Guarda the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Alfredo Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alfredo Cunha ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Bessa in the 92nd minute of play forced Portalegre FC's goalkeeper Evandro Rego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfredo Cunha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Evandro Rego read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Alfredo Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evandro Rego having to interfere. Rui Bessa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Evandro Rego tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Leiradas walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
