The supporters of SC Belmonte booed when SC Faial was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Tinoco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amado Quadros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olívio Figueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 82nd minute, Hilário Rebocho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Belmonte fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. A collision led to SC Belmonte getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 94 minutes, Olívio Figueira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Belmonte's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olívio Figueira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hilário Rebocho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amado Quadros having to interfere. There was no doubt that SC Belmonte were the better team. SC Belmonte's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
