To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 17 minutes into the match, SC Faial's goal looked a bit too open when Delfim Simões came free, but Amado Quadros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SC Faial's Amado Quadros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save SC Faial from getting a goal against them. In the 28th minute Delfim Simões shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amado Quadros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jorge Pinheiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emanuel Torcato went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score.
