If Tiago Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 15 minutes, Cristóvão Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Embarbez FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristóvão Araújo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alexandre Ferrão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th match minute, Embarbez FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Leão to maneuver through the defense. If Alexandre Ferrão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute, Cristóvão Araújo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tiago Veiga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 37th match minute, Machado FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudemiro Peseiro to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Machado FC's zone, Cristóvão Araújo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bogumil Gejda came out of the goal and Cristóvão Araújo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bogumil Gejda didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 41st minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Josué Castilho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Embarbez FC's goalkeeper Vítor Cunha, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
