After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Eduardo Esteves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palmela FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eduardo Esteves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gusmão Salgueiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Basílio Torres scored 1-0 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gusmão Salgueiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Palmela FC's Basílio Torres got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ademar Póvoas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Brito having to interfere. Gusmão Salgueiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eduardo Esteves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The corner led Palmela FC's Vítor Garcia to fire away a dangerous shot which Gusmão Salgueiro despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.
