Alcino Torres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Arnelas Sport Club booed when Coulo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gil Barros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Isidoro Palmeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Isidoro Palmeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. José Leiria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 63rd minute, one of Coulo FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Coulo FC. In the 64th minute there was a penalty for Arnelas Sport Club. Simão Figueiredo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving José Leiria. 1-0. A collision led to Coulo FC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Luís Ferro hit a great ball. After 72 played minutes, Arnelas Sport Club's Simão Figueiredo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper José Leiria came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Arnelas Sport Club reached it. After 72 played minutes Coulo FC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Ferro. Coulo FC's José Leiria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alcino Torres in the 79th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Arnelas Sport Club's Lucílio Cortez got a free kick in the 80th minute. Carlos Malta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Bessa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
