Gaspar Pinheiro's late challenge caught a Valezim's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. David Coelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim Gouveia in the 38th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Canicos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Dantas came free, but David Coelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 45 minutes into the match, Joaquim Gouveia notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Canicos FC's David Coelho. David Coelho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Canicos FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Valezim were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joaquim Gouveia made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Ivan Dantas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but David Coelho was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. With a little luck, Canicos FC's David Coelho got control of the ball when Ivan Dantas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ricardo Magalhães replaced Cor Plagge. 84 minutes into the game, Canicos FC's Ricardo Sousa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paulo Ferrão made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. David Coelho made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Ivan Dantas sent off a good shot on target. Valezim's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
