After 9 played minutes Carreco FC got a freekick which was hit by Juvenal Meireles. 0-1 became the score in the 13th minute when Lisandro Garcez elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Alfafar FC's Rafael Branco got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rafael Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aparício Roriz having to interfere. Adelino Veloso hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Carreco FC's zone, Rafael Branco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aparício Roriz came out of the goal and Rafael Branco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aparício Roriz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bento Santarém in the 27th minute. When Carreco FC's Lisandro Garcez in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Alfafar FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 33rd minute, Humberto Amaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carreco FC's Xavier Malafaia got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Alfafar FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Augusto Pedroso hit a great ball. Carreco FC's Alexandre Mourato got his second yellow card of the match in the 40th minute. The referee ordered Alexandre Mourato off the ground. Alexandre Mourato kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Bento Santarém struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Aparício Roriz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alfafar FC. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Xavier Malafaia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, Rafael Branco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alfafar FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafael Branco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aparício Roriz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bento Santarém in the 54th minute of play. Carreco FC's Aparício Roriz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Branco in the 57th minute of play. A collision led to Carreco FC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Juvenal Meireles hit a great ball. In the 60th minute Bento Santarém shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aparício Roriz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Rafael Branco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aparício Roriz was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. When Rafael Branco came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Alfafar FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafael Branco couldn't finish the play.
