Spectators: 6657 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1657, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Hilário Castelo Branco took the kick off in the first half of the match. The supporters of Arega FC booed when SC Almeida was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Chagas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 5th minute of the match Basílio Pedroso shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hermenegildo Barata showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Xavier Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, SC Almeida's Luís Chagas got a free kick in the 14th minute. Hermenegildo Barata stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bruno Guerreiro's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. After 25 played minutes Arega FC got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Guerreiro. Hilário Castelo Branco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Afonso Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th match minute, Arega FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adelino Miranda to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute Artur Chagas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Francisco Garcia's late challenge caught a SC Almeida's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Francisco Garcia helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Arega FC's Francisco Garcia got a free kick in the 37th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Artur Chagas managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Almeida's supporters rose to their feet, but Artur Chagas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Afonso Rocha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Afonso Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artur Chagas in the 46th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bruno Guerreiro made a kick off. Bruno Guerreiro struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Hermenegildo Barata didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arega FC. After 53 minutes, Aristides Carvalhais mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Almeida and the Arega FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 53rd minute, Aristides Carvalhais hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Bruno Guerreiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hilário Castelo Branco might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Afonso Rocha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hilário Castelo Branco ran back to his position shaking his head. Sálvio Regueira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 65th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Afonso Rocha. Arega FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Hilário Castelo Branco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Afonso Rocha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. Artur Chagas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Bruno Guerreiro put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Hermenegildo Barata. Hermenegildo Barata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruno Guerreiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 82nd minute Xavier Gonçalves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hermenegildo Barata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hermenegildo Barata made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Guerreiro in the 83rd minute of play. Marco Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 95 minutes, Bruno Guerreiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arega FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bruno Guerreiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, SC Almeida's Aristides Carvalhais got a free kick in the 96th minute. Bruno Guerreiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arega FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
