With an extended leg and a bit of luck Américo Cruz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 24th minute, Jorge Baptista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Murtosa's Vicente Correia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Murtosa from getting a goal against them. In the 29th minute Alexandre Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Correia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Aleixo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Américo Cruz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The Murtosa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 56th minute José Fernandes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Américo Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Américo Cruz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Freitas, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. A collision led to Alvalade getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Rui Setúbal hit a great ball.
