The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Donato Bragança stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abel Correia's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. 9 minutes into the match, SC Regateiras's goal looked a bit too open when Abel Correia came free, but Donato Bragança reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alexandre Ribeiro in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Donato Bragança prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 16 minutes of play, G. Desportivo Almargense's Alexandre Ribeiro made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Donato Bragança was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 20th match minute, SC Regateiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Peralta to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st minute of the match Pedro Pedroso shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Donato Bragança showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 21 minutes, Jorge Peralta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Regateiras and the G. Desportivo Almargense players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jorge Peralta hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After 24 played minutes SC Regateiras got a freekick which was hit by Egídio Valadares. Henrique Gueifão was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Severiano Infante. 38 minutes into the game, Abel Correia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Donato Bragança was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Alexandre Ribeiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Donato Bragança was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. Abel Correia took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Donato Bragança. Donato Bragança dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Donato Bragança took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Ribeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Alexandre Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Donato Bragança managed to avoid a goal in the 56thth minute, when G. Desportivo Almargense's Alexandre Ribeiro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ramiro Prates kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 59th match minute, SC Regateiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramiro Prates to maneuver through the defense. The G. Desportivo Almargense fans' excitement grew in the 61st match minute when G. Desportivo Almargense's António Oliveira looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Duarte Pedroso in the 71stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Donato Bragança, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Alexandre Coelho hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. The supporters of G. Desportivo Almargense booed when SC Regateiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frederico Freire didn't get a good kick on the ball. 78 minutes into the match, António Oliveira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Donato Bragança. SC Regateiras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that António Oliveira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. Duarte Pedroso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Bragança having to interfere. After 85 played minutes, G. Desportivo Almargense's Pedro Pedroso shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Donato Bragança came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in G. Desportivo Almargense reached it. In the 86th minute, Duarte Pedroso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The G. Desportivo Almargense fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-8. With a couple of smart ball manuevers António Oliveira in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Donato Bragança saved SC Regateiras from getting behind. Duarte Pedroso made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 90thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Donato Bragança would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Severiano Infante took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 92nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Henrique Gueifão. G. Desportivo Almargense's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Frederico Freire fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Regateiras's protests and gave Frederico Freire a yellow card for diving instead.
