Pedra's Carlos Moreira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Pedra from getting a goal against them. Ityjopya's Pedro Silva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Leite in the 40th minute of play. After 44 played minutes, Pedra's Nuno Trindade shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pedro Silva came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pedra reached it.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and André Leite made a kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Ityjopya was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Moreira to maneuver through the defense. Sandro Fontes scored 0-1 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Silva, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Conrado Che came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Ityjopya fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Conrado Che couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Ityjopya's Jorge Moreira got a free kick in the 61st minute. A collision led to Pedra getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Nuno Trindade hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Ityjopya's Miguel Melo tried to score from far away in the 66th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Basílio Lima was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 69 minutes into the match. After 69 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ityjopya! When the match had been going on for 71 minutes, Pedra's João Bessa got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Pedro Silva. Pedro Silva made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Sandro Fontes sent off a good shot on target. Chants of Pedra echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Ityjopya had held the ball for most of the match.
