To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 16 minutes into the match, Courelinhas's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Matos came free, but Cláudio Pereira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cláudio Pereira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eusébio Antunes in the 19th minute of the match. Hugo Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Oliveira having to interfere. Afonso Oliveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugo Ribeiro in the 24th minute of play. After 25 played minutes Santorum FC got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Melo. After 33 played minutes Courelinhas got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Ribeiro. 34 minutes into the match, Eusébio Antunes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cláudio Pereira, 2-0. Alexandre Mendes had several of the Courelinhas's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 38 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-0 score and a disappointed Cláudio Pereira as he didn't even see the shot coming. Cláudio Pereira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Brito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Courelinhas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eusébio Antunes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. Cláudio Pereira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eduardo Melo, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. After some careless play in the Courelinhas defense, Álvaro Barbosa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cláudio Pereira. The Courelinhas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cláudio Pereira should have stopped the shot. Cláudio Pereira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eusébio Antunes went, in the 99th minute, to the upper right corner, 9-0 was the resulting score. Santorum FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
