Joel Tavares had several of the Sobrainho FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 13 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Ariel Rumalt as he didn't even see the shot coming. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Basílio Vaz managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Sapos's supporters rose to their feet, but Basílio Vaz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ariel Rumalt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 19th minute, Hugo Esteves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SC Sapos's Jorge Brás played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Faria in the 21st minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Daniel Faria had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jorge Brás. SC Sapos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Faria was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Gustavo Matias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ariel Rumalt having to interfere. Sobrainho FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 29th minute, when Joel Tavares scored to the left of an out of position Ariel Rumalt, making the score, 2-1. After 33 played minutes Sobrainho FC got a freekick which was hit by Davide Lemme. Ariel Rumalt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaac Iyan in the 34th minute of play. With his leg Ariel Rumalt managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when SC Sapos's Joel Tavares fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of SC Sapos booed when Sobrainho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Davide Lemme didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Sobrainho FC's attentive Ricardo Moniz managed to snatch the ball when Basílio Vaz made a throw-in in the 74th minute of the game. Ricardo Moniz might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jorge Brás. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ricardo Moniz ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joel Tavares in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ariel Rumalt saved Sobrainho FC from getting behind. In the 87th minute, Stepan Parhomenko got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Faria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Brás having to interfere. Isaac Iyan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ariel Rumalt having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Sobrainho FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SC Sapos.
