Eusébio Castro made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Oliveira in the 6th minute. 7 minutes into the game, Nuno Faro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cansino's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Trandeiras the free kick. In the 7th minute, Nuno Faro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Martinho Vasques hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Carlos Trindade kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. António Meireles's late challenge caught a Cansino's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. António Meireles helped the player get up and apologised. After 17 played minutes SC Trandeiras got a freekick which was hit by António Meireles. After a defensive mix-up in SC Trandeiras's zone, António Viana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Veríssimo came out of the goal and António Viana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to SC Trandeiras getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Carlos Trindade hit a great ball. If António Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jaime Poças kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. SC Trandeiras's David Veríssimo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raimundo Bonadona in the 25th minute of play. In the 26th match minute, SC Trandeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Trindade to maneuver through the defense. David Veríssimo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raimundo Bonadona, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Sérgio Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Raimundo Bonadona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Cansino booed when SC Trandeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. António Meireles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a defensive mix-up in Cansino's zone, José Oliveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eusébio Castro came out of the goal and José Oliveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. David Veríssimo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Raimundo Bonadona in the 58th minute. After 58 minutes, Carlos Trindade mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Trandeiras and the Cansino players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 59 played minutes SC Trandeiras got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Trindade. Raimundo Bonadona received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. David Veríssimo came out and tried to block the shot, but Raimundo Bonadona slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 62nd minute. After a rather tough play, SC Trandeiras's Abílio Liberato got a free kick in the 65th minute. After 68 minutes SC Trandeiras's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Manuel Gueifão who took care of the corner kick. Cansino's Manuel Gueifão was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but David Veríssimo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 70th minute, Raimundo Bonadona made a precise shot to the right of David Veríssimo. SC Trandeiras's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. A collision led to Cansino getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. António Viana hit a great ball. After 90 minutes of play, Cansino's Raimundo Bonadona made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. David Veríssimo was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in SC Trandeiras's zone, Raimundo Bonadona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Veríssimo came out of the goal and Raimundo Bonadona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Cansino's António Viana in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Trandeiras's goalie prevented a goal. When Raimundo Bonadona came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Cansino fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raimundo Bonadona couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle sounded Cansino left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than SC Trandeiras.
