Spectators: 6673 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1673, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jaime Carvalho kicked off to start the match. In the 4th minute Jaime Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rui Castro got free with Emílio Mendes in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Carvalho in the 10th minute of play forced SC Suidros's goalkeeper Afonso Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SC Suidros's Afonso Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emil Nae in the 13th minute of play. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Suidros's goalkeeper Afonso Barros, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 23 minutes into the game, Amílcar Vieira recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Emílio Mendes. Amílcar Vieira showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. A collision led to SC Suidros getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Adolfo Maia hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in SC Suidros's zone, Emil Nae stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Afonso Barros came out of the goal and Emil Nae tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jaime Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Emílio Mendes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rui Castro went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Emílio Mendes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amílcar Vieira's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. After a rather tough play, SPORTING CP's Şevket Bayraktar got a free kick in the 39th minute. Emil Nae struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Afonso Barros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SPORTING CP. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Amílcar Vieira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Adolfo Maia charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adolfo Maia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, SC Suidros's Adolfo Maia got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Emílio Mendes was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Emílio Mendes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rui Castro in the 80th minute of the match. During the 83rd minute of the match Adolfo Maia completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Adolfo Maia a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 84th match minute, SC Suidros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adolfo Maia to maneuver through the defense. SPORTING CP's Emílio Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui Castro in the 89th minute of play. 95 minutes into the game, SPORTING CP's Emil Nae nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Afonso Barros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. For all the effort they put into the match, the SPORTING CP players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SC Suidros.
