Amílcar Vieira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 6th minute, Amílcar Vieira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Suidros fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 10 minutes into the match, Rui Castro notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Mariano Bernardes. Mariano Bernardes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Sport Lisboa e Benfica getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Jorge Infante hit a great ball. After 15 minutes, Edgar Soveral mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sport Lisboa e Benfica and the SC Suidros players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Mariano Bernardes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amílcar Vieira in the 18th minute of play. The supporters of Sport Lisboa e Benfica booed when SC Suidros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rui Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28thth minute of the game Rui Castro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Mariano Bernardes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Afonso Barros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rui Sanches's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. After 31 minutes, Tomás Dantas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Suidros and the Sport Lisboa e Benfica players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 31st match minute, SC Suidros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás Dantas to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 32 minutes, Rui Sanches managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sport Lisboa e Benfica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rui Sanches was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Quintino Jesus hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Mariano Bernardes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardo Freitas in the 34th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rui Castro in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mariano Bernardes prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amílcar Vieira made a kick off. Mariano Bernardes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amílcar Vieira, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. André Bragança struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Afonso Barros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sport Lisboa e Benfica. In the 65th minute, Amílcar Vieira fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Mariano Bernardes, passed just outside the right post. Amílcar Vieira might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mariano Bernardes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amílcar Vieira ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 73rd minute Amílcar Vieira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mariano Bernardes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When SC Suidros's Amílcar Vieira in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sport Lisboa e Benfica's goalie prevented a goal. After 78 played minutes SC Suidros got a freekick which was hit by Tomás Dantas. SC Suidros's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Rui Sanches might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Afonso Barros. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rui Sanches ran back to his position shaking his head. Rui Sanches received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Afonso Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When André Bragança came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Sport Lisboa e Benfica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Bragança couldn't finish the play. 88 minutes into the match, Sport Lisboa e Benfica's goal looked a bit too open when Amílcar Vieira came free, but Mariano Bernardes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Adolfo Maia managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Suidros's supporters rose to their feet, but Adolfo Maia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mariano Bernardes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. SC Suidros walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
