Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Marga's José Assis in the 25th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Belchior Aragão was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Peredo FC through an amazing save. Peredo FC's Manuel Leão got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hermínio Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Maia having to interfere.
