Frederico Paião charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Frederico Paião the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 11 played minutes SC Areias got a freekick which was hit by Frederico Paião. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Areias's goalkeeper Amadeu Sesimbra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 17th minute Alcides Amaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu Sesimbra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Murilo Viana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Amadeu Sesimbra having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Murilo Viana in the 21st minute of play forced SC Areias's goalkeeper Amadeu Sesimbra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Albertino Tinoco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Silvério Rios made a huge save. If Josué Varanda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albertino Tinoco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvério Rios having to interfere. FC Barreirense's defense didn't have a chance, in the 30th minute, when Josué Varanda scored to the left of an out of position Silvério Rios, making the score, 2-0. 34 minutes into the match, SC Areias's goal looked a bit too open when Murilo Viana came free, but Amadeu Sesimbra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alcides Amaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu Sesimbra having to interfere. SC Areias's Amadeu Sesimbra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Murilo Viana in the 38th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tiago Eiró during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 39th minute, Tiago Eiró hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Josué Varanda kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Silvério Rios. That made the score 3-0 in the 44 minute of play. Silvério Rios made an important save on a dangerous shot by Albertino Tinoco in the 48th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alcides Amaro was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in SC Areias's zone, Alcides Amaro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amadeu Sesimbra came out of the goal and Alcides Amaro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Josué Varanda in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Silvério Rios saved FC Barreirense from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in FC Barreirense's zone, Lourenço Azenha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvério Rios came out of the goal and Lourenço Azenha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 61st minute Josué Varanda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvério Rios saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claudemiro Graça hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Josué Varanda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Silvério Rios having to make a save. A collision led to FC Barreirense getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. André Borges hit a great ball. Josué Varanda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Amadeu Sesimbra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alcides Amaro, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Albertino Tinoco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Silvério Rios tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Josué Varanda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. SC Areias fully deserved thier win.
