The audience was convinced that Amílcar Fontes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Horácio Carvalhal was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Horácio Carvalhal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amílcar Fontes in the 43rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armando Paredes got free with Horácio Carvalhal in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Pedro Severiano made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute Amílcar Fontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horácio Carvalhal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amílcar Fontes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Horácio Carvalhal having to make a save. Horácio Carvalhal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amílcar Fontes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armando Paredes couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, SC Cercal's Pedro Severiano got a free kick in the 67th minute. Armando Paredes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. After having played for 82 minutes, Armando Paredes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inviando FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armando Paredes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Amílcar Fontes in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Horácio Carvalhal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Armando Paredes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Armando Paredes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Horácio Carvalhal was relentless in the 87th minute of the game.
