Spectators: 6657 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1657, VIP seats: 0) Cristóvão Pinho made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 5th minute of the match Marzagao FC got a corner. Castelo FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nicolau Flores ran over to the corner to take the kick. Nuno Amaro struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Eduardo Vasconcelos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Castelo FC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno Amaro in the 16th minute of play forced Marzagao FC's goalkeeper Eduardo Vasconcelos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 17 played minutes Marzagao FC got a freekick which was hit by Elias Boaventura. After having played for 18 minutes, Cristóvão Pinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Castelo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristóvão Pinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nuno Amaro took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eduardo Vasconcelos. Eduardo Vasconcelos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 22nd minute, Nuno Amaro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 25th minute, Castelo FC's Américo Borba seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Américo Borba the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Castelo FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Américo Borba had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 24th minute of the game. One of Castelo FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Marzagao FC:s goal. In the 30th match minute, Castelo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Álvaro Henriques to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Marzagao FC's Rubim Cesário got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Nuno Amaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When António Tavares came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Castelo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that António Tavares couldn't finish the play. Jarbas Pires's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Álvaro Fontes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. After having played for 47 minutes, Jesualdo Aragão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marzagao FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jesualdo Aragão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Jesualdo Aragão made the kick off in the second half. Nuno Amaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Eduardo Vasconcelos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nuno Amaro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eduardo Vasconcelos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Mário Paiva who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 59thth minute tested the skills of Eduardo Vasconcelos when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Nuno Amaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nuno Amaro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Eduardo Vasconcelos made a huge save. Nuno Amaro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 65 minutes into the match, Jarbas Pires notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Castelo FC's Álvaro Fontes. Álvaro Fontes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 72 minutes into the match, Marzagao FC's goalkeeper Eduardo Vasconcelos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nuno Amaro. If Mário Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jesualdo Aragão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Álvaro Fontes having to interfere. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Castelo FC booed when Marzagao FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rubim Cesário didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rubim Cesário kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Castelo FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
