Spectators: 6663 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 0) Cambeia's Egídio Vieira started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Miguel Moutinho during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 3 played minutes Sportil CP got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Moutinho. After 5 played minutes Sportil CP got a freekick which was hit by Cristiano Costa. The supporters of Sportil CP booed when Cambeia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gregório Taborda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Egídio Vieira was extremely unlucky when he, in the 18th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After a defensive mix-up in Sportil CP's zone, Jerónimo Vidal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amílcar Marques came out of the goal and Jerónimo Vidal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 26 minutes into the match, Sportil CP's goal looked a bit too open when Egídio Vieira came free, but Amílcar Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. João Viegas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlos Soares during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Carlos Soares hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Abel Pacheco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adão Miguéis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. When Gil Saraiva fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cambeia's protests and gave Gil Saraiva a yellow card for diving instead. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cambeia's goalkeeper Adão Miguéis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Amílcar Marques acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 46th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Altino Fonseca. An unexpectedly hard shot by Egídio Vieira in the 49th minute of play forced Sportil CP's goalkeeper Amílcar Marques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 51 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sportil CP's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Claudemiro Leiria was slow to take the kick. During this time Cambeia's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Gregório Taborda heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abel Pacheco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 62nd minute Abel Pacheco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adão Miguéis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 65 minutes, Abel Pacheco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sportil CP's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abel Pacheco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Egídio Vieira in the 71st minute of play forced Sportil CP's goalkeeper Amílcar Marques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Sportil CP's Oliveira Barros got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Amílcar Marques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Egídio Vieira in the 73rd minute of play. Abel Pacheco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 78 minutes into the match, Sportil CP's goal looked a bit too open when Egídio Vieira came free, but Amílcar Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amílcar Marques didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Egídio Vieira went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 93rd minute, Oliveira Barros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 99 minutes into the match, Cambeia's Jerónimo Vidal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Amílcar Marques narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Cambeia fans cheered their team off the field, for while Sportil CP had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
