The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, SOL XXI's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Oliveira came free, but Durval Brito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Berrega FC were awarded a corner in the 6th minute after SOL XXI's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fernando Barros took the corner. After taking down the ball on Berrega FC's corner Fernando Barros fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Durval Brito quite easily take care of the ball. Dércio Ramires kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Durval Brito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Teixeira in the 11th minute of play. After 12 played minutes SOL XXI got a freekick which was hit by Dércio Ramires. If Pedro Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pedro Teixeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Joaquim Linhares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute Joaquim Linhares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Durval Brito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Oliveira in the 27th minute of play. Pedro Teixeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Durval Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jorge Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The attack was good, but when Jorge Oliveira in the 34th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Joaquim Linhares took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Abel Amorim to make any attempt to save it. In the 44th minute, Jorge Oliveira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Berrega FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Jorge Oliveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Jorge Oliveira made the kick off in the second half. Pedro Teixeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Durval Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Delfim Assunção fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Berrega FC's protests and gave Delfim Assunção a yellow card for diving instead. Berrega FC's Pedro Teixeira got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jorge Oliveira in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Durval Brito saved SOL XXI from getting behind. 75 minutes into the match, SOL XXI's Jorge Valério sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Abel Amorim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Joaquim Linhares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abel Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Valério in the 80th minute of the match. Abel Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Valério in the 81st minute of play. A collision led to Berrega FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Francisco Anjos hit a great ball. Pedro Teixeira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Abel Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquim Linhares in the 89th minute of the match. If Jorge Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
