Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Robustiano Salvidor to make the kick off. Miguel Assunção made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucas Gonçalves in the 53rd minute of play. When Lucas Miranda fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Vermelhos's protests and gave Lucas Miranda a yellow card for diving instead. David Santiago's late challenge caught a SC Vermelhos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. David Santiago helped the player get up and apologised. Robustiano Salvidor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Miguel Assunção made a huge save. Tiago Mourinho hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Lucas Gonçalves struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Miguel Assunção didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Vermelhos. After 77 played minutes SC Vermelhos got a freekick which was hit by Cândido Mota. When Lucas Miranda was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 79 minutes had been played. After 80 played minutes SC Vermelhos got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Miranda. Fábio Viana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anthon Stenqvist's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Miguel Assunção read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Basílio Cabral came out of the goal in the 97th minute to try and stop a shot by CD Marcinense's Nuno Vilaça. But to his dismay, Nuno Vilaça quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Despite being the better team, SC Vermelhos failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
