After a rather tough play, Meijoadas FC's Ronaldo Teves got a free kick in the 11th minute. If Armando Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Mário Pinto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maia Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Mário Pinto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Isac Barata breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Toninho Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isac Barata having to interfere. If Armando Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Meijoadas FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Toninho Gaspar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. When the match was over Maia Club could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Meijoadas FC throughout the match.
