The audience held their breath when Sandro Abreu in the 24th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the João Porto's left hand side. Rafael Borba came out of the goal and Daniel Brás tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Brás stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Cabanoes's goalkeeper João Porto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Henrique Alves. Daniel Brás sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Júlio Costa was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 54 minutes had been played.
