Amadeu Bessa started the match with the kick off. Ademar Quadros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alcides Vargas having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Apiao FC's zone, Gastão Laureano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Viriato Guimarães came out of the goal and Gastão Laureano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Amadeu Bessa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Viriato Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alcides Vargas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nuno Macedo went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Serzedo FC's Alcides Vargas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ademar Quadros in the 27th minute of play. When Ademar Quadros came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Apiao FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ademar Quadros couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Gastão Laureano took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Viriato Guimarães to make any attempt to save it. With an all-out effort, Serzedo FC's Viriato Guimarães threw himself towards the right post 48 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Caio Moita, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nuno Macedo was the one to do the kick off. Apiao FC's Viriato Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amadeu Bessa in the 60th minute of play. Fernando Domingos's late challenge caught a Apiao FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fernando Domingos helped the player get up and apologised. In the 62nd minute, one of Serzedo FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Serzedo FC. Germano Rios hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Quintino Montenegro hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Apiao FC's Quintino Pestana pulled a muscle in his leg after 75 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Quintino Montenegro charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Quintino Montenegro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Quintino Montenegro hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Amílcar Madureira, 76 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Ademar Quadros struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Alcides Vargas made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Ademar Quadros sent off a good shot on target. Adelino Tinoco helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Apiao FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
