Pedro Abreu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 16thth minute tested the skills of Eusébio Bessa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Sandro Nascimento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Veríssimo Pinheiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Cortinhal FC's Eusébio Bessa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Abreu in the 19th minute of play. Januário Seixas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandro Nascimento having to interfere. After 28 played minutes SC Agucadoira got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Valente. In the 30th minute, Januário Seixas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Veríssimo Pinheiro struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Sandro Nascimento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cortinhal FC. If Januário Seixas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Januário Seixas made the kick off in the second half. Veríssimo Pinheiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandro Nascimento having to interfere. Cândido Santiago's late challenge caught a SC Agucadoira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cândido Santiago helped the player get up and apologised. In the 56th minute, Cândido Santiago hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eusébio Bessa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pedro Abreu's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Pedro Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 65 played minutes, Cortinhal FC's Cândido Santiago shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sandro Nascimento came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line.
