Spectators: 7274 (Terracing: 5457, Seating: 1673, VIP seats: 144) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Raul Moniz got the match started through his kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Medroa's goal looked a bit too open when Gualter Valadares came free, but Alexandre Anjos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 3rd minute, Gualter Valadares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Melancia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raul Moniz in the 6th minute of play forced SC Melancia's goalkeeper Luís Quental to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th minute, Filipe Pinheiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gualter Valadares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alexandre Anjos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. The supporters of SC Melancia booed when Medroa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filipe Pinheiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. SC Melancia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Timóteo Balsemão in the 16th minute. A well done corner resulted in Alexandre Gomes drilling the ball in to score 2-0 behind Medroa's goalkeeper. Timóteo Balsemão took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 23rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alexandre Anjos. Medroa's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Alexandre Anjos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gualter Valadares in the 24th minute of play. In the 31stth minute of the game Raul Moniz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Melancia's Luís Quental was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Medroa's Alexandre Anjos got control of the ball when Alexandre Gomes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Raul Moniz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Luís Quental tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Melancia's Gualter Valadares got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alexandre Anjos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alexandre Gomes in the 48th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gualter Valadares to strike the kick off in the second half. Alexandre Anjos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gualter Valadares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gualter Valadares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Alexandre Anjos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fernando Rocha got free with Luís Quental in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 75 minutes into the match, Medroa's Fernando Rocha sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luís Quental narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 77 minutes, Hugo Costa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Medroa and the SC Melancia players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Medroa's Hugo Costa got a free kick in the 77th minute. After having played for 85 minutes, Alexandre Gomes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Melancia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Gomes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 89th minute Filipe Pinheiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Quental saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SC Melancia were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Medroa for a fine match.
