Spectators: 6649 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1649, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Valter Arruda got the match started through his kick off. In the 4th minute Alexandre Gomes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jarbas Borges saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Heitor Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Luís Quental took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valter Arruda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gualter Valadares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarbas Borges having to interfere. After 19 minutes, Murilo Assunção mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Melancia and the SC Derriada players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in SC Melancia fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 18th minute. Penalty! Valter Arruda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amado Fontes came free with the goalkeeper in the 23rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Luís Quental could save by the left post. In the 26th match minute, SC Melancia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timóteo Balsemão to maneuver through the defense. In the 29th minute Gualter Valadares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jarbas Borges saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The SC Melancia fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when SC Melancia's Gualter Valadares looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Evandro Ramos's late challenge caught a SC Derriada's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Evandro Ramos helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, SC Melancia's Evandro Ramos got a free kick in the 35th minute. Luís Quental made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Amado Fontes sent off a good shot on target. Amado Fontes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Valter Arruda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 49th minute. Luís Quental tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Gualter Valadares made the kick off in the second half. Alexandre Gomes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Jarbas Borges made a huge save. Alexandre Gomes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in SC Derriada's zone, Alexandre Gomes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jarbas Borges came out of the goal and Alexandre Gomes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, SC Melancia's Jordão Rodrigues got a free kick in the 59th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gualter Valadares in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jarbas Borges saved SC Derriada from getting behind. If Alexandre Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexandre Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarbas Borges having to interfere. Alexandre Gomes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Jarbas Borges made a huge save. SC Derriada's Jarbas Borges played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gualter Valadares in the 75th minute of play. Jarbas Borges made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gualter Valadares in the 81st minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, SC Melancia's Alexandre Gomes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jarbas Borges narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Amado Fontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Quental having to interfere. Luís Quental didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Amado Fontes went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 97th minute of the match SC Melancia got a corner. SC Derriada's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Timóteo Balsemão ran over to the corner to take the kick. For all the effort they put into the match, the SC Melancia players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SC Derriada.
