Monsoa's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hermes Mota in the 49th minute. Carrico's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Manuel Camacho's late challenge caught a Carrico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
