WINX CLUB's Hélder Valente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Igor Toscano in the 3rd minute of play. In the 11th minute, Veríssimo Franco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 23 minutes, Rui Lisboa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the WINX CLUB and the FC Porto players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 25th minute, WINX CLUB's Nuno Campos dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Paulo Mota who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Manuel Guimarães when he managed to save the team from getting behind. WINX CLUB's Hélder Valente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aristides Meira in the 30th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in FC Porto's zone, Paulo Mota stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manuel Guimarães came out of the goal and Paulo Mota tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 33 minutes into the match, Rui Lisboa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Manuel Guimarães, 3-0. Chiquinho Brasil hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. WINX CLUB's Rui Lisboa suffered a concussion in the 46th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. WINX CLUB made a substitution. Cristiano Abreu replaced Rui Lisboa. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Manuel Vilaça made a kick off. After 61 played minutes FC Porto got a freekick which was hit by Aristides Meira. 63 minutes into the match, Armindo Lima notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of FC Porto's Manuel Guimarães. Manuel Guimarães was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulo Mota in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Manuel Guimarães prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Manuel Guimarães came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by WINX CLUB's Paulo Mota. But to his dismay, Paulo Mota quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Armindo Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot. WINX CLUB's supporters rose to their feet, but Armindo Lima was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manuel Guimarães breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 75th minute, Igor Toscano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Manuel Guimarães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Mota, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. After 78 played minutes FC Porto got a freekick which was hit by Veríssimo Franco. In the 81st minute, Paulo Mota ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Manuel Guimarães was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-1. After a defensive mix-up in FC Porto's zone, Paulo Mota stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manuel Guimarães came out of the goal and Paulo Mota tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Armindo Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 98 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FC Porto! Chiquinho Brasil walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. WINX CLUB's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
