Spectators: 7203 (Terracing: 5404, Seating: 1656, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Luiz Paulo de Amorim started the match with the kick off. Hermínio Viana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Paulo Viegas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Nova Gaia United getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Cândido Maia hit a great ball. With a little luck, Nova Gaia United's Paulo Viegas got control of the ball when Hermínio Viana tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nuno Setúbal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Claudemiro Pessoa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Paulo de Amorim in the 19th minute of play. Paulo Viegas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Salgueiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 25 minutes, Luiz Paulo de Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nova Gaia United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Paulo de Amorim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Nova Gaia United's Nuno Setúbal in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC MOTA's goalie prevented a goal. 36 minutes into the match, Nuno Setúbal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Claudemiro Pessoa. SC MOTA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nuno Setúbal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Claudemiro Pessoa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Paulo de Amorim in the 40th minute of play. If Luiz Paulo de Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 46th minute, Nuno Setúbal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Heitor Pedroso hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Salgueiro to strike the kick off in the second half. Paulo Viegas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Salgueiro in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th minute, Daniel Salgueiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC MOTA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Luiz Paulo de Amorim blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Claudemiro Pessoa having to make a save. 66 minutes into the match, SC MOTA's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Paulo de Amorim came free, but Claudemiro Pessoa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70th minute, Luiz Paulo de Amorim got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paulo Viegas came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by SC MOTA's Heitor Pedroso. But to his dismay, Heitor Pedroso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Paulo Viegas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Heitor Pedroso, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Rui Borba recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Claudemiro Pessoa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Paulo de Amorim's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. In the 82ndth minute of the game Luiz Paulo de Amorim who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC MOTA's Claudemiro Pessoa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 85 played minutes Nova Gaia United got a freekick which was hit by Nuno Setúbal. 87 minutes into the match, Nova Gaia United's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Salgueiro came free, but Paulo Viegas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Luiz Paulo de Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nova Gaia United's supporters rose to their feet, but Luiz Paulo de Amorim was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudemiro Pessoa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nova Gaia United were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing SC MOTA to leave the ground with a draw.
