Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) João Andrade started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Tobias Castilho took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Antoine Rutten to make any attempt to save it. Rio-Ave were furious when Alexandre Leite was red carded, 17 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Rio-Ave:s Antoine Rutten showed great skill when he stopped Aprígio Neto:s penalty. In the 19th minute, Aprígio Neto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Aliança Sport Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. The audience was convinced that João Andrade's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amadeu Durães was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Antoine Rutten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Vides in the 41st minute of the match. In the 43rdth minute of the game João Andrade who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Aliança Sport Club's Amadeu Durães was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tobias Castilho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Aliança Sport Club's Cássio Sousa got a free kick in the 51st minute. Diogo Trindade kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Sousa in the 56th minute of play forced Rio-Ave's goalkeeper Antoine Rutten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rio-Ave's Antoine Rutten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Vides in the 58th minute of play. The supporters of Rio-Ave booed when Aliança Sport Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Vides didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cássio Sousa during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rio-Ave's Hortêncio Xavier was substituted for Diogo Trindade. In the 64th match minute, Aliança Sport Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cássio Sousa to maneuver through the defense. In the 65th minute, Manuel Vides hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The nice shot from João Andrade in the 66thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Amadeu Durães had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. In the 68th minute João Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu Durães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 74th match minute, Aliança Sport Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cássio Sousa to maneuver through the defense. Catarino Simões blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Amadeu Durães having to make a save. After 89 minutes of play Aliança Sport Club's Cássio Sousa was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Cássio Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Catarino Simões received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Amadeu Durães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Rio-Ave's Armindo Alves dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-5. The Aliança Sport Club fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Rio-Ave were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
