When José Pinto came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the SC Friande fans jumped to their feet. After a rather tough play, SC Friande's Cristiano Anjos got a free kick in the 83rd minute. With a little luck, Bensafrim FC's Aquilino Caldeira got control of the ball when José Pinto tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Bensafrim FC's zone, Cláudio Borges stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aquilino Caldeira came out of the goal and Cláudio Borges tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Bensafrim FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
