The referee ignored Cerradas's protests and gave Rúben Falcão a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Cerradas fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 3rd minute. Penalty! 10 minutes into the game, Cerradas's Lourenço Gueifão nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Albertino Teixeira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Daniel Reis during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Albertino Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mateus Carreira in the 19th minute of play. Albertino Teixeira came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Cerradas's Amadeu Lemos. But to his dismay, Amadeu Lemos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. With his leg Nuno Perdigão managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Sambrana's Sebastião Assis fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a little luck, Cerradas's Nuno Perdigão got control of the ball when Sebastião Assis tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Vágner Negri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 35 in the game by Sebastião Assis from a close distance when the talented Nuno Perdigão managed to make a qualified save. Cerradas's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lourenço Gueifão in the 36th minute of play forced Sambrana's goalkeeper Albertino Teixeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastião Assis in the 38thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Nuno Perdigão, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cerradas's goalkeeper Nuno Perdigão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Albertino Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alcides Lucena in the 40th minute of play. With a little luck, Cerradas's Nuno Perdigão got control of the ball when Sebastião Assis tried to sneak it across the goal line. 46 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cerradas's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alberto Neto was slow to take the kick. During this time Sambrana's players had a chance to rest. The Sambrana players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cerradas were winning 1-2.

The crowd rose to their feet as Cerradas's Mateus Carreira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Albertino Teixeira. That made the score 1-4 after 71 minutes of play. Albertino Teixeira made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Lourenço Gueifão sent off a good shot on target. In the 78th minute, Lourenço Gueifão left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cerradas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. Albertino Teixeira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lourenço Gueifão went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-6 was the resulting score. The supporters of Sambrana booed when Cerradas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lourenço Gueifão didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 86thth minute of the game Sebastião Assis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cerradas's Nuno Perdigão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cerradas's zone, Manuel Pedroso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nuno Perdigão came out of the goal and Manuel Pedroso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Sambrana's Sebastião Assis in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cerradas's goalie prevented a goal. Manuel Pedroso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Nuno Perdigão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Sambrana manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Cerradas to win.
