Lustosa's Abílio Teves got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 12 minutes into the match, Plácido Vargas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Donato Coelho, 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Plácido Vargas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Donato Coelho. That made the score 2-0 in the 20 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Lustosa's Simão Salgueiro got a free kick in the 23rd minute. If Plácido Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Simão Salgueiro during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 28th minute, Simão Salgueiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Plácido Vargas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Viriato Calado scored 2-1 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Homero Lousada, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Plácido Vargas came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Furnas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Plácido Vargas couldn't finish the play. Hildeberto Trigueiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Homero Lousada tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Plácido Vargas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Coelho having to interfere. In the 64th minute Avelino Rangel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donato Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute, Hildeberto Trigueiro fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Homero Lousada, passed just outside the right post. 69 minutes into the game, Joaquim Castanheira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Furnas FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lustosa the free kick. In the 70th match minute, Furnas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquim Castanheira to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hildeberto Trigueiro in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Homero Lousada saved Furnas FC from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Abílio Teves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lustosa's supporters rose to their feet, but Abílio Teves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Homero Lousada breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Abílio Teves struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Homero Lousada didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lustosa. Abílio Teves's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 80thth minute, Homero Lousada skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 82 minutes into the game, Furnas FC's Plácido Vargas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Donato Coelho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Avelino Rangel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Hildeberto Trigueiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Furnas FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Lustosa for a fine match.
