Eusébio Veloso was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 16 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute, Eusébio Veloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hermes Bettencourt scored 0-3 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cesário Carvalhal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting clube fria's zone, Filipe Trigueiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valério Fraga came out of the goal and Filipe Trigueiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 30 minutes into the match, Caparica FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Queirós came free, but Cesário Carvalhal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sérgio Regueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marco Queirós hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. 34 minutes into the match, Sporting clube fria's goal looked a bit too open when Amável Rangel came free, but Valério Fraga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Caparica FC's Cesário Carvalhal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermes Bettencourt in the 37th minute of play. Valério Fraga was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Amável Rangel showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 38 minute of play. Hermes Bettencourt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesário Carvalhal having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sérgio Regueira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Valério Fraga came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Caparica FC's Inácio Caetano. But to his dismay, Inácio Caetano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Hermes Bettencourt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sérgio Regueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Cesário Carvalhal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 61st minute, Hermes Bettencourt fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Cesário Carvalhal, passed just outside the right post. Hermes Bettencourt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Cesário Carvalhal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amável Rangel in the 67th minute of play forced Sporting clube fria's goalkeeper Valério Fraga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hermes Bettencourt's late challenge caught a Caparica FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hermes Bettencourt helped the player get up and apologised. Sérgio Regueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hermes Bettencourt kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Sérgio Regueira took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cesário Carvalhal. Cesário Carvalhal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. Hermes Bettencourt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hermes Bettencourt's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 87thth minute, Cesário Carvalhal skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Inácio Caetano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Marco Queirós came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Sporting clube fria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marco Queirós couldn't finish the play. Marco Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesário Carvalhal having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Hermes Bettencourt made a precise shot to the right of Cesário Carvalhal. Caparica FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-5. Sporting clube fria played a much better game than Caparica FC and deserved their victory. The Caparica FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
