A very good chance. 20 minutes into the game, Jorge Caiado recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Egídio Viegas. Jorge Caiado showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Paulo Faria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Jerónimo França tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Higino Prates managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guarda FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Higino Prates was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jerónimo França breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Paulo Faria scored 1-1 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jerónimo França, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Paulo Faria's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jerónimo França was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Higino Prates struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Jerónimo França didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. Jerónimo França was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Higino Prates in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jerónimo França prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jerónimo França showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Faria, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Higino Prates to make the kick off. Higino Prates had several of the Abobreira FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 60 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-3 score and a disappointed Jerónimo França as he didn't even see the shot coming. Jerónimo França took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Higino Prates, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abobreira FC's Jerónimo França played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Higino Prates in the 67th minute of play. Higino Prates fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerónimo França having to interfere. When Amável Perdigão fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Abobreira FC's protests and gave Amável Perdigão a yellow card for diving instead. Paulo Faria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulo Faria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jorge Caiado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Egídio Viegas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jerónimo França showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Higino Prates in the 83rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Higino Prates in the 86th minute of play forced Abobreira FC's goalkeeper Jerónimo França to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alípio Setúbal hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. After having played for 94 minutes, Higino Prates managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guarda FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Higino Prates was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 97th minute the ball was on its way in behind Abobreira FC's goalkeeper Jerónimo França, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Abobreira FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Guarda FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
