The audience thought a goal was coming when Aristides Amado got free with António Domingues in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vila Pouca FC's António Domingues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusébio Palhares in the 23rd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Trandeiras FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rezső Soltész came free, but Elias Sardinha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute, Rezső Soltész left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vila Pouca FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Jaime Campos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Eusébio Palhares received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. António Domingues came out and tried to block the shot, but Eusébio Palhares slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 42nd minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eusébio Palhares to make the kick off. An unexpected shot in the 57th minute by Rezső Soltész got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 65th minute, Vila Pouca FC's Raul Dias dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-2. António Domingues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eusébio Palhares in the 70th minute of the match. Rezső Soltész fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias Sardinha having to interfere. The supporters of Trandeiras FC booed when Vila Pouca FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per-Erik Helström didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eusébio Palhares in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg António Domingues saved Vila Pouca FC from getting behind. When the referee blew the final whistle, Trandeiras FC could leave the field as winners, despite Vila Pouca FC having more of the ball for most of the match.
