Oscar CP's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliseu Valério was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mariano Setúbal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eliseu Valério fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mariano Setúbal having to interfere. If Silvério Vilarinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 26 minutes of play, Oscar CP's Eliseu Valério made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mariano Setúbal was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mariano Setúbal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvério Vilarinho in the 30th minute of play. A hard shot 31 in the game by George Bergström from a close distance when the talented Viriato Patrício managed to make a qualified save. Oscar CP's players were relieved. In the 45th minute Eliseu Valério shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mariano Setúbal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Silvério Vilarinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After the first half Oscar CP were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Silvério Vilarinho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Oscar CP's goal looked a bit too open when Mário Paiva came free, but Viriato Patrício reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee ignored Oscar CP's protests and gave Albertino Aragão a yellow card for diving instead. In the 76th match minute, Oscar CP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albertino Aragão to maneuver through the defense. Viriato Patrício showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandre Alves, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. With a little luck, S.C.Paivense's Mariano Setúbal got control of the ball when Hermano Flores tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 83rd minute of the match Cristóvão Mota sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mariano Setúbal skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvério Vilarinho in the 86th minute of play forced S.C.Paivense's goalkeeper Mariano Setúbal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eliseu Valério received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Mariano Setúbal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mariano Setúbal made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Eliseu Valério sent off a good shot on target. 95 minutes into the match, Daniel Guerreiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Viriato Patrício. Oscar CP's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Guerreiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
